Amyris Chypre

Amyris Chypre is our modern take on the chypre family: bright citrus, cool-green lift, and a polished amyris wood core that reads clean, dry and magnetic. It wears with the balance chypre lovers prize: a fresh top, woody and mossy underneath.

The opening is vivid and purposeful. Italian grapefruit sets a crisp, luminous tone; Bourbon rose geranium adds a mint-tinged floral snap; a soft thread of jasmine brings light and dimension.

As the fragrance settles, amyris takes the lead: balsamic, sandalwood-smooth, subtly resinous - braided with the gentle smoke of guaiac wood. A touch of violet leaf keeps the art fresh while the texture turns warmer and more tactile, like the grain of a well-finished wood under the hand.

The dry-down is classic chypre in a modern key: oakmoss, aged patchouli, labdanum resin, and Haitian vetiver shape a supple, mossy base that lingers with measured presence for 6-8 hours. Non-sweet and versatile, Amyris Chypre moves easily through every season and setting. It's an easy signature for anyone who prefers clarity and craftsmanship over excess.

Perfumer's Note: I love chypres! I just can’t help it… the magical synergies contained within a well-made chypre are fascinating to me. Which takes me to Amyris Wood… I’ve long thought that an Amyris Wood Chypre would be a wonderful idea. So, I created Amyris Chypre, a true rarity in today’s world. It combines old-fashioned perfumery with modern techniques to create something timeless yet current.  I hope you enjoy it!
