Ceto Gold
From
$35.00
Though linked to terrifying monsters, Ceto was known for her beauty... Hesiod called her “fair-cheeked,” and she appears elegant on the Pergamon Altar. She was the daughter of Gaia and Pontus, and the sister of sea deities like Phorcys, whom she married. Their children, the Phorcides, included the Graeae, Gorgons, Echidna, and the serpent guarding the Hesperides’ garden... Later traditions also name Ceto as the mother of the Hesperides, who protected Hera’s golden apples.
ACT I - "The Street"
Jasmine spilling through an open window, tangled with warm citrus and the ghost of fruit crates in the heat. It's 2 a.m. and someone left the market unlocked. Bright, alive, almost indecent in how generous it is.
ACT II - "The Room"
The jasmine deepens, steeping itself in tea and honey light. Something almost edible... But it never turns overtly sweet. It evolves along an inevitable path. This is the act where people lean in. Someone standing nearby whispers: “…who smells so good?!”
ACT III - "The Cellar"
Cocoa dust on dark wood. Rum-soaked barrels. Incense cooling on stone. Something luminous and golden still hovers just above the skin. A warmth you can't name but can’t bear to be without. This is where Ceto Gold lives longest: in the question someone asks the next morning, when they smell your shirt: “What were you wearing last night?”

Perfumer’s Note: “Ceto Gold was the very first fragrance I created using the Onycha Method. I was in such a feeling of limbo while this fragrance was maturing… The joy I felt when I first tested it was like no other. The moment I smelled it, I knew that the Onycha method worked! When I tested it, it seemed to reach that stage of radical transformation in its aging, that point when a fragrance suddenly transforms, becomes much more beautiful and stronger, reveals its true identity… right at the 8 week mark.” Joseph Erwin
